Running Back tips

I know the basics of our offense but this is myfirst year as Running Back and I need tips. In my 4 years I have never played running back. I am not starting since someone who has played last year is playing and the starter from last year wanted playing time *that's what he told me* and is starting as other rb. Rakeem gets hurt a lot and and I will be backing him up in the games and I want some extra info that is basic and not part of my offensce.

Hit the holes hard.

Open up to the quarterback.

Keep ball tucne din with both arms until you break the linebackers, than tuck it towards the nearest sideline.


Try to make every run as vertical as possible, do run sideways every play.

Dont ever think about getting the ball from the qb. You have to open your arms up right, and its the qb's job to put the ball in the pocket. You cant focus on getting the ball, you need to focus on where the hole is, and what is happening aroun dthe LOS.
