I am currently on weight lifting program with 4 days dedicated to pure strength, and one day commited to muscle growth. What sort of things should i be eating to maximize the effects of this program? Are there any specific nutriments i should concentrate on(i.e. protein, carbs)? any help is much appreciated.

Carbohydrates...with quite a bit of protein(1 gram per pound of bodyweight.) You should be eating as much carbs as you can(refraining from eating them at night time, as this causes fat gain.) Good sources of carbs are oatmeal, nutri grain type bars, certain cereals, brown rice, fruits and veggies, pastas, etc.

You do not need 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, it's per kilogram.

Im on a really good 3-day 5x5 full-body workout routine..

we had a huge thing on this way before. I'd say 1.5 per kg personally.

Yes..you should. Consuming protein as a newbie will help you gain weight quicker..which is probably something you would want to do.
