Looks like you should've been there already.

I would say improve your pad level, and you should be fine, also is good to get faster, goal should be 4.6 for D-1A fullback.

4.6 would be a good time for an NFL fullback.

yes but I am talking hand timed 4.6. With all these combines now a days, everyone wants you to be so and so 40 time

A lot of pro running backs have 4.6's

running backs...
not really...
almost all are under 4.6...
I haven't heard yet of an NFL RB running a 4.6 or over...

The one from Northwestern University, Noah Herron, I think he now plays for the Eagles (he was with the Steelers), his combine 40 was a 4.67. There are some others out there as well.

Jeez guys, he's talking about playing high school and you're weighing him down with all this 40 time garbage. He hasn't even said he wanted to play college ball.

why aim low when you can aim high? most of the time in HS, if you run a hand timed 4.6 as a fullback, you will dominate

Fine, but not everybody needs to train specifically for the 40.

sure aiming high is great, but when you set goals that are completely out of reach it gets frustrating when they fail to be accomplished repeatedly. in high school, it's generally not easy for most kids to have a 4.6 40 while having the physique usually associated with the fullback position. that's not to say that there aren't any high school fullbacks running a 4.6 40. it's just a rarity.
my point is that aiming high is great, but make sure that although difficult, your goals are attainable.

well I was a DE/TE in HS before my senior year when i moved in order to get more exposure. I went into the year prob running a 5.0 at about 240 pounds. I set a goal of 4.9 at 270. after camp and conditioning, I went into the season at 6'3 275 running a 4.95. So anything is possible bro. If I were a lot smaller then, like a fb, I know I could have ran a 4.6 at say 215 pounds, which is a good size for a HS FB.

I might play some FB next year and I am 6'2 245. But our starting fullback this year was 5'10 185 and ran a 4.5 40. This guy is an athlete who should play runningback.

i think if i can cut down a lil and work on my leg strength i can cut my 40 to a 4.6....i am lookin to play college ball by the way- also what lifts should i be focusing on and what muscle groups should i focus on??

Ask the veterans for the types of lifts.
What is see important for a fullback is knee drive. If you have any pretty good size hills try running up those for a few sets. I've found that to help.

as far as lifting, make sure to have a good split that allows you proper recovery. I do chest/tris, back/bis, shoulders/traps, legs, calves. do you cardio too, it doesn't matter right now since it is offseason, but the sooner it gets to spring, then you wanna start doing field work. stick to the big 4 as far as powerlifting, then add others for hypertrophy.

Big 4...Bench, Squat, Clean, Deadlift?
Why do legs once a week?

Just hit the weights hard but don't be to worried about them you seem to already have the size just work on your technique blocking for the FB position and taking handoffs and do some conditioning and you should be fine also see if you can get a copy of the playbook and learn your responsibilities ion each play .
