I was just about to ask a question like this. When you say keep my alignment straight what are you talking about? Your hips? YOur back?

you should do pilates!! they are great for realligning your hips and back and basically everything! its why they were invented! also improves your freedom of movement greatly making it much easier and making you better at rapid change of direction for cutting etc...great when trying to step someone! also it builds up you core in a way youve proably nvr heard of! it works the muscles under the "six pack" these are more important for a strong core! also its great for strength and toning! like 10 pilates sit ups are worth about 60 or so normal! its an amazing technique! and its proven to work great! its hard to do at first but once you get into it properly youll be amazed at how well it improves you!

im telling you! this was the whole point of pilates! all our lives we sit humans werent made to sit like this or this often! especialy slouching! when we do this al day every day in school form when we are kids it slowly throws our hips out of alignment! ever look at how kids can change thier direction in a split second? its because their hips are out of alignment! but pilates dosent just fix you hips they do exercises to readjust your whole body! even makes you seem longer and more lean but hasnt changed you at all! you learn lots of essential things very helpful in sports! if you have any questions post here! or google it!

How does it actually fix your hip. Also how long does it take to notice results? I think I might do the free pilates that comes on my comcast. I'm assuming pilates is pilates right? Not like yoga that has a thousand diff types of yoga.

pilates is pilates! it was inventes back in the 19th centurs by dr pilates for himself to fix his body he was undersized and had rickets and horrible arthritis amoung many other problems he invented this way to exercise the not only helped cure his problems it makes you seem longer or taller whatever word u want to use it un do's damage and makes your overall fitness go up a huge amount! it gives you a greater freedom of direction of movement, tons, helps git rid of back/ hip/ loads of other bone problems they a person may have and realligns their body!
you ask how it re-alligns your body? simply you dont use it the way we do now! you find the way man was ment to stand even lie we had these abilitys in us just we abused them! we wer made to be able to sit for a while but not all day! think about it from when we are like or 5 we are sent to school were we spent the majority of our day sitting or slouching in a chair that can only be damaging to our growth especially during such a crucial stage of our lives! the way you re-allign your body is through using it the way it was ment! and doing exercises to put more strain on your body to re-allign your body the way it should be! the lenght it can take to be effective can depend on fitness and the extend of damage done! like classes are only typically an hour each go once or twice a week and after a few months you should see some huge results!
examples of pilates in work on athlethes in most clear in rugby! im not aware of any nfl teams haveing it as mandatory(so i cant give examples) but in rugby the new zealand team who are ranked number one in the world have it as mandatory only for the last year mind you, but if you are a fan then you will notice the difference between them at the world cup and now! england won the world cup new zealand lost to them they played like a month age new zealand were a total different team! leagues ahead! these guys weretwice the size of the england rugby team and yet could move faster and change direction and juke etc...with ease! try scoring is a game to them! with most teams its we hope we win! with them its hmm...wonder by how much! at the moment it is anyway!
