i'm a RB/WR and i was just wondering what are the things that recievers have done on you to get open that worked that is hard to stop. i'm trying to pick up some tips cuz nex year i'm trying to start on varsity

the only thing iv had problems with when guarding a reciever was thier ability to run routes. work on breaking in and out of your cuts, cause thats when youll lose the defender.

DBJohn basically summed it up, its the routes that get us..

The really good recievers play mind-games with you.. They come at you like they're about to block but then go out for a route, vice versa.. its those kinda things, but mainly the routes.. If a reciever can perfect his routes and react quick to a corner coming up to disrupt his route, he will make the big plays..
