View Full Version : getting ISS for cheating, chances of making varisty over?

I'm a freshman and I'm training to be on varsity football next year, but I cheated off of somebody's paper and now I'm getting ISS for 2 days, so do you think this will effect my chance of making varisty next year?
or will it just matter what I do for the rest of offseason and the summer?

Not really....people get suspended on our team, and they still play. But if it's DURING the season you miss one game.

That won't effect you being on Varisty. Ussually during the Offseason they don't care about you untill the season. It might effect your chances of getting into a good college. But I dought you would be getting into a good college if your cheating off of someone's paper in the first place. So good luck on getting a good job because that will go on your perminat record and colleges will see that and ouch.

Just remember the saying from the ESPN TV series "Playmakers" a few years ago- "when you're a playmaker rules don't apply." LOL I loved that series!

not really, be glad its not in season. Also be ready for a little extra running from the coach.

I know my coach runs ISS so I would be screwed. But they usually don't say what you did. During the season if one person got in trouble, we all did.

same here plant C... but one of my friends got ISS for fighting and then he got suspened from school and coaches really didn't seem to care (happened a week ago)

what is ISS, ive never heard of it...

we usually call it academic probation when someone gets caught cheating or is failing classes.

People don't get ISS for cheating here, they get a 0 and a few day's of after school detention I think. You get ISS for fighting etc.

BigSwole- I think you should still have a chance of making Varsity next year, just be extra good so the Coaches know it was a one time thing.

i have yet to see a coach not put a player on varsity that has the ability because of dicsiplinary reasons.

at our school its 3 days OSS, for dealing drugs in school.

yea, sometimes they get off with ISS. This dude in my American History class got charged with sexual harassment and had to go to AEP. Its in Plainviewand around 1.5 hours away, it's a boot camp no, from what I hear, and it's a minimum of 5 school days.

Da...... we get like 10 or 30 days with a dicipelenary hearing to see if we can come back. If we can't we are expelled one year and we can't go to any school in the state. Thats even if we get cought out of school. ISS here is In School Suspension. Also if we cheat they suspend us for like 10 days and tell our college :(.

Oh our coach said if we got in trouble during the season he was physically beat us. He would take us back in the woods and phyiscally beat us. He didn't care about jail time and fines.

Im sure that was just to scare you, he doesnt want that on his resume- he'd be fired and no one else would hire him. That was BS buddy.

well he works for free so I really don't know if their is a resume.

ISS is in school suspension right,we dont even have that here in the high school only in middle school were they threaten to "daub your card" ROFL
