as you may know from my previous posts i have been playing mostly RB/FB and CB/LB, but i want to switch to quarterback. reasons being
1. our quarterback for our varsity team is a senior, and i am going to be a sophmore, the qb's in front of me (juniors) suck, along with the qb's in my grade that played qb for our frosh team
2. i think i can impact the game more from the qb postion. dont get me wrong i love playing both ways but and i impact the game from my current pos. but i have that leadership ability that i can maximize to the fullest if i play qb.
it would be helpful if ppl could please post things about being a qb, or tips or drills or anything about the qb pos. thanks

just practice throwing the ball and learn all your team's plays, after that it sounds like you've got it down

Work with the people who will likely be your receivers next year, so you learn how they like the ball thrown. And so they learn what style you have. Work with a few centers so y'all get a good exchange.

Work on all drop-steps, and scrambling so that if you have to imrovise a lay, you'll be more accustomed to it.

I got 330 inLate to mid-August, I ran that 40 in March. lol, I was actually talking to one of my friends that's a JR about that yesterday.
On my b-day, Februery 14th, I plan to test everything possible relating to my stats.

Ok first of all work on all your dropbacks like the 3 step drop and the 5 step drop. Thats the key to being a efficient qb IMO. Especially in high school. Second you should probably work on getting quick feet in the pocket. Because when the crap hits the fan you dont want to be tripping all over your lineman. Thirdly. I know this sounds dumb but gain some weight. Not necessairly muscle. But some fat. Not tons or anything. Dont gain like 40 pounds of fat but like 10 punds of fat.Call me crazy but when your running down the field and there are linebackers and d-lineman running at you, you might want a little extra girth. EX: Daunte Culpepper, Byron Leftwich, and Bruce Eugene. Thats my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

What kind of offense does your school run?
If you are going to play in an offense that throws a lot, you need to spend most of your offseason watching film and learning how to read defenses.
All of the fancy footwork and drills won't do you an ounce of good if, for example, you can't tell a Cover II from a Cover III or if you don't know which defender to read on a slant pattern.
I would HIGHLY suggest that you discuss your intentions with the head coach. Chances are good that he will be excited about your desire to play QB. He can probably get you started.

I'm guessing he either:
a. Uses safety squats
b. has no hamstring strength
