I am interested in the answer to this to although I think it is a bit more complicated then the responses so far....

For instance....my 13 year old (will be 14 when he starts freshman ball) was a starting FB/LB in youth league...right now weighing about 150 pounds and if he keeps his average weight gain will be around 165 when he hits freshman ball......

- What is a good weight for a freshman player, for a sophomore player?, a junior, what should a senior weigh?.....I am sure that there are different answers for these.....

depends what level you want to play at and if you wanna play college. I would say a good weight is 215 for a senior, maybe a little more. Because most HSers don't know how to eat right, you wanna keep it simple. I play D-1 HS ball in Cali, so the linebackers were like 210-250. Elite ones are about 220-230. But it all depends on how much you can pack on without effecting speed and agility. Our linebacker, my buddy was 255 pounds on 6'4 frame, ran a 4.8. He got a lot of attention. really the bigger the better, your chances, but don't sacrifice speed and agility for a little weight.
